Say hello !
Who is this Mark T Cox ?
After mild childhood fame as the organ player in his local church in Co. Clare, Mark T Cox headed for Dublin to begin his cabaret career, soon landing a weekly residency in The George, Ireland’s oldest queer venue, alongside drag legend Veda Lady.
Together, their camp cabaret duo act ‘Slap & Tickle’ toured Ireland performing at Body & Soul Festival, Electric Picnic Festival, and headlining the main stage at Dublin Pride Festival for several years. Today, Mark and Veda regularly reunite for special performances in Ireland and the UK.
Since moving to London 10 years ago, Mark now performs weekly across the East and West Ends, with current residencies at The Divine, The CellarDoor, plus appearances at the RVT, The Glory (RIP) and Toulouse Lautrec Jazz Club - as well as internationally across Europe and Japan.
Mark has recently become an unofficial Irish ambassador in London, with regular collaborations with The London Irish Centre, Irish in Britain, and The Irish Embassy in London - promoting the voice and stories of Queer Irish immigrants in the UK through comedy and cabaret.
Whether it’s an enormous summer festival tent, an intimate cabaret basement, or 20 people huddled ‘round the piano in the back of an East London cafe, Mark wants every experience, to be warm, kind, full of songs and a laugh!
Mark has been lucky to perform and collaborate in some truly inspiring shows alongside some of London’s entertainment elite including Jonny Woo and David Hoyle, plus countless incredible cabaret, drag and comedy stars from the London scene.
Collaborations with performance artist Xnthony and comedian Harriet Braine have seen them bring shows to Vault Festival, Dublin Fringe Festival, The National Theatre River Stage, as well as numerous performances at The Barbican, The Albany, and Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club.
Mark has also worked for many years with RuPual’s Drag Race UK stars Vinegar Strokes and Just May, with regular duet shows at The Royal Vauxhall Tavern, POW Brixton, London’s Hippodrome Casino and The Karaoke Hole.
In 2024, Mark’s new show PADDY DADDY hits the road.
